Principles
Tudno Playschool believes that:
-
play is fundamental to the physical, emotional, linguistic, social and intellectual development of children.
We will ensure every possible opportunity to learn through play, and support the framework principles of the Foundation Phase 3-7 years and Flying Start Framework.
-
children, whatever their needs, benefit from good quality early years experiences.
We will welcome children with additional needs to our provision and try to secure suitable extra support which will meet the needs of the individual.
-
the family is the foundation of a child’s development.
Every opportunity will be provided for families to support the early years’ experiences of their children, and we will offer linguistic and social support for families through our provision’s activities.
-
acquiring the Welsh language is of advantage to children.
To this end we will organize as many contact hours with the Welsh language as possible.
We will try to establish suitable provision to meet the need locally and will try to secure additional support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
-
children’s rights, in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Children’s Act 2004, are very important.
To this end children will have the right to expect every adult, who has responsibility for them, to protect them from all kinds of abuse. We will co-operate with Local Authorities to apply the steps which have been agreed upon in cases of supposed abuse.
Tudno Playschool believes that every child has a right to:
-receive care, love and respect.
-receive appropriate attention and support in order to meet his/her unique needs.
-benefit from every opportunity to play.
-guidance, which will enable him/her to become a full member of society.
-be stimulated to enable him/her to develop to his/her full potential.
-be treated as an equal, irrespective of race, colour, religion, nationality or social background.
-expect every adult who is responsible for him to defend him from every harm.
Tudno Playschool will work in partnership with parents to promote these values.
